170. The Plague (to cure. ) Cold Water alone, drank largely, has cured it : 646. Or, an Ounce or two ofthe Juice of Marygolds : 647. Or, take a Dram of Angelica powder'd, every fix Hours. It is a ftrong fweat : 648. Or, after bleeding fifty or fixty Ounces, drink very largely of Water tharpened with Spirit of Vitriol: 649. Or, a Draught of Brine as soon as seized ; fweatin Bed ; take no other Drink for fome Hours. 650. Ufe Lemon-Juice largely in every Thing. 171. The Pleurify. 651. Apply to the Side Onions roafted in the Em- 'bers, mixt with Cream : 652. Or, take half a Dram of Soot: 653. Or, take out the Core of an Apple, fill it with white Frankincenfe ; ftop it clofe with the Piece you cut out, and roaft it in Ashes. Mafh and eat it. 654. Or, A Pleurify is a Feverattended with a violent Pain in the Side, and a Pulfe remarkably hard . 654. Or, a Glafs of Tar-water, warm , every half Hour: 655. Or, of Decoction of Nettles ; and apply the boiled Herb hot, as a Poultis . Tried. 656. Or, boiled Fennel or Camomile flowers. 657. Or, a Plaifter of Flour of Brimstone and White of an Egg Tried.-See Dr. Tiffot. 658. In Disorders of this Kind, Dr. Huxham advifes, fup almoft continually thin Whey, Barley-water, or Hyffop-tea, fharpened with Lemon or Vinegar and Water. Ifthe Spitting ftop fuddenly, take a little Vomit. Likewife Camphorated Vinegar, with Syrup of Elder or Rasberries is good. To appease the Cough, take often, a little at a Time of roafted Apples, yea, Strawberries, Rafberries, or Currants . 172. To one Poifon'd. 659. Give one or two Drams of diftill'd Verdigreafe : It vomits in an Instant : 660. Let one poifon'd with Mercury Sublimate, diffolve an Ounce of Salt ofWormwoodin a Gallon of Water, and drink largely of it. This will intirely destroy the Force of the Poifon, if it be used foon. 661. Nothing cures the African Poison, but a Decoction ofthe Roots of the Senfitive Plant. 173. Polypus
