However, I got acquainted with some pious people, and made shift to live, till I was about sixteen: I then embarked for Surinam ; but a storm drove us to the coast of England, where the ship was stranded. I was in great dis tress, fearing I had done wrong in leaving the pious people: But just then God revealed himself to my soul.
