173. Polypus in the Nofe. 662. Powder a Lump of Alum and fnuff it up frequently. Then diffolve powder'd Alum in Brandy; dip Lint therein, and apply it at going to Bed. 174. A Prick or Cut that Fefters. 663. Apply Turpentine. 175. An eafy Purge. 664. Drink a Pint of warmish Water fasting, walking after it : 665. Or, infufe from half a Dram to two Drams of Damafk Rofe-leaves dried, in half a Pint of warm Water for twelve Hours : 666. Or, infufe three Drams of Sena, and a Scruple of Salt ofTartar, in half a Pint of River Water for twelve Hours. Then ftrain and take it in the Morning. 667. Wild-Afb is a Plant ofthe very fame Nature with Sena, but of greater Virtue. Its Leaves taken in the fame Quantity purge full as well, and do not gripe as Sena does. It is therefore far preferable to that which is brought from Turkey or Haly. 176. Aftronger Purge. 668. Drink half a Pint of ftrong Docoction of Dock root: 669. Or, two Drams of the powder'd Root of Monks Rhubarb, with a Scruple of Ginger. 177. The Quinfy. 670. Apply a large White-bread Toast, half an Inch thick , dipt in Brandy, to the Crown ofthe Head, ' till it dries : 671. Or, drink a Quart of cold Water lying down in Bed : 672. Or, fwalllow flowly white Rofe Water, mixt with Syrup of Mulberries : Tried . 673. Or, Juice or Jelly of black Currants , or Decoction ofthe Leaves or Bark. 674. Ufe the cold Bath, with Rubbing and Sweating : The Quinly is, A Feverattended with Difficulty of Swallowing, and often of Breathing.. Rheumatical Pains are generally most violent as foon as you are warm in Bed.
