Manner of Inflammation, fmarting, itching, Spots, Webs, or any other Disorder whatsoever, yea, tho' the Sight were almost gone. An Eye Water which was used by Sir Stephen Fox , when he was 60 Years of Age, and could hardly fee with the help of Spectacles ; but hereby in fome Time he recover'd his Sight, and could fee to read the fmalleft Print without Glafs or Spectacles, ' till above Eighly. Take fix Ounces of rectify'd Spirits ofWine, diffolve in it one Dram of Camphire : then add two Pugils of dry'd Elder Flowers. In twentyfour Hours after it is infused, it is ready for Ule. Take out a little in a Tea-fpoon ; dip your Finger in it, and bathe your Forehead over your Eyes, and each Temple with it feveral Times, Morning, and Night, and twice more in the Day conftantly. Mean time dip a soft Rag in dead fmall Beer, new Milk warm , and dabb each Eye a Dozen Times gently, Morning and Evening. If it is a watry Humour, you may with your Finger wet the Eyelids two or three Times apiece ; but be fure to fhut your Eyes, or it makesthem fmart and burn exceffively. If you have the Tooth ach or fwelled Face rub it well in on the Part, and it will take away the Pain. It will cure any Bruife alfo ifufed immediately : Tried.
