Prevenient Grace Free Will Means of Grace
43. Cholicfrom the Fumes of Lead, or White Lead, Verdigreafe, c. 200. In the Fit, drink fresh melted Butter, and then vomit with warm Water : 201. Or, give Glifters of Oil or fat Broth. 202. To prevent or cure, breakfast daily on fat Broth, and ufe Oil of fweet Almonds frequently and largely. 203. Smelters of Metals , Plumbers , c. may be in a good Measure preferved from the poisonous Fumes that furround them by breathing thro' Cloth or Flannel Mufflers twice or thrice doub led, dipt in a Solution of Sea-falt, or Salt ofTartar and then dried . Thefe Mufflers might alfo be of great Ufe, in many fimilar Cafes . 44. Chops in Women's Nipples. 204. Apply Balfam of Sugar. 45. To prevent the ill Effects ofCold. 205. The Moment a Perfon gets into an House, with his Hands or Feet quite chilled, let him put them into a Vefil of Water , as cold as can be got, and hold them there ' till they begin to glow. This they will do in a Minute or two. This Method likewife effectually prevents Chilblains.
