To John Valton Date: PARKGATE, April 21, 1780. MY DEAR BROTHER,-I send you herewith one of our Lord's jewels, my dear Miss Ritchie; such an one as you have hardly seen before. But, alas! it seems she has but a short time to stay here, unless the journey should remove her consumption. Miss Marshall, her friend, is an Israelite indeed. You will assist them all you can; and so, I doubt not, will Sister Maddern. Indeed, they are worthy. I hope you are writing for me an extract from your Journal. See letters of Feb. 9 and Oct. 1 to him. I wish you would take another burthen upon you. Interleave one of the Primitive Physicks, and insert into it as many cheap and simple medicines as you pIease. I am Your affectionate friend and brother.
