HYMN 651. c. m. The Spirit of Adoption . 1 COVEREIGN of all the worlds on high, Allow my humble claim ; Nor, while, unworthy, I draw nigh, Disdain a Father's name. 2 " My Father God !" that gracious sound Dispels my guilty fear ; Not all the harmony of heaven Could so delight my ear. 3 Come, Holy Spirit, seal the grace On my expanding heart ; And show, that in the Father's love I share a filial part. 4 Cheer'd by a witness so divine, Unwavering I believe ; And, "Abba, Father," humbly cry; Nor can the sign deceive. HYMN 652. c. m. Breathing after the Holy Spirit. 1 /OME, Holy Spirit, heavenly Dove, - With all thy quick'ning powers ; Kindle a flame of sacred love In these cold hearts of ours. OJO Hymns on 2 In vain we tune our formal songs, In vain we strive to rise ; Hosannas languish on our tongues, And our devotion dies.
